Selected Luther's team MVP in 2008, Jake was a three-time all-conference selection and an all-Central Region selection following his junior year. He also played for the Wisconsin Woodchucks in the Northwoods League, one of the best amateur leagues in the country.

"I always said I wasn't going to Luther, because both of my parents and many other family members had gone here. But eventually I realized Luther was going to give me the best opportunity to play two sports and get a great education.

"It's something special to be a member of a team at Luther College. You become lifelong friends and genuinely care about your teammates. Succeeding with them on the basketball court or baseball field makes all the hard work you do and all the hours of training and practice worthwhile."
