Norse Defeat Knights in Metrodome - Second Game Called Due to Time Limit

Luther scored 14 runs on 16 hits and defeated Carleton College 14-1 in the Minneapolis Metrodome this evening. The Norse exploded for five runs in the third, four in the fifth and three in the sixth.
Cody Hyland (2-0) pitched six solid innings, striking out nine, walked one and allowed just two hits.
Jake Waddle, who was 2-for-4 for the day, drove in three runs, as did Steve Beckman who was 2-for-3. Joe Thompson was 2-for-3, scored three times and drove in two runs. Alex Thomas also drove in two runs after going 2-for-4 at the plate.
In game two, the Norse were trailing the Knights 7-2 when the game was called due to time limit. As a result, the game does not count.
The victory gives the Norse an overall record of 5-3. They will begin Iowa Conference action this weekend when Wartburg College will travel to Decorah for a three-game series. Game one will be played on Friday, March 28, starting at 3:00 p.m. Saturday's double header will begin at 1:00 p.m.
