Norse Split With Kohawks - Kohls Pitches Complete Game

Luther wrapped up its three-game series at Coe with a split this afternoon in Cedar Rapids. The Norse won game one 7-4 and dropped an 8-2 decision in the nightcap.
The Norse produced 12 hits in game one that included a six-hit, six-run second inning. The Norse scored their final run in the fourth. Coe did all of its damage in the sixth, scoring four runs on five hits.
Alex Ross was 3-for-4, while Jake Waddle and Alex Thomas were both 2-for-4. Jeff Riddle, who was 1-for-5, drove in two runs.
Adam Kohls (2-0) went the distance on the mound. Kohls gave up four runs on nine hits, struck out four and did not allow a walk.
In the nightcap, Coe scored eight runs on nine hits, scoring five in the fourth and three in the fifth. Luther's two runs came in the sixth, when the Norse produced four of their five hits for the game.
The split dropped Luther's Iowa Conference record to 3-5, 8-8 overall. Coe moved to 7-4 in league play, 15-8 overall.
The Norse will return to action on Wednesday April 9, when they will host non-conference Viterbo University at 2:00 p.m.
