Trailing 3-0 entering the top half of the fourth inning, Cornell exploded for nine runs on seven hits, en route to a 9-7 victory here in Decorah this afternoon.
In the lower half of the second, Luther tallied three runs on two hits. The Norse made it interesting, scoring four runs in the bottom of the eighth and had runners on second and third with one out in the ninth, but failed to get them to home plate and send the game into extra frames.
Jake Waddle and Jeff Hiatt both had three hits, while Jeff Riddle, Ben Schott and Zack Topping all had two.
