Simpson Defeats Luther 3-2

For the seventh time this season the Luther baseball team has lost a one-run game. This afternoon, Simpson defeated the Norse here in Decorah 3-2.
The Storm scored one run in the second and two in the third off of Luther starter Adam Kohls (2-1) en route to the victory. Kohls spread nine hits over 7 1/3 innings of work, struck out five and walked three.
Five of Luther's 11 hits came in the fourth and seventh innings, as the Norse scored one run in each frame. Matt Bruhn, Alex Ross and Phil Worden all had two hits. Mark Weber and Jeff Hiatt were each credited with an rbi.
The loss drops Luther's Iowa Conference record to 3-6, 9-12 overall. Simpson moves to 9-7 in league play, 17-12 overall.
The Norse will return to action this weekend when they will host Central College for a three-game series. The first game will be played on Friday, April 18 starting at 3:00 p.m. Saturday will be a double header that will begin at 1:00 p.m.
