Ruckebeil Honorable Mention All-Confernece

Zac Ruckebeil, a 2005 graduate of Zion Benton High School, has been named to the Iowa Conference all-conference team as an honorable mention selection. He was the only Luther player to be recognized on the seven-member first and second teams and five-member honorable mention team.
Ruckebeil, a junior forward, produced his best season in a Norse uniform. In Iowa Conference action, he led the league in rebounding, collecting 8.6 per game. He captured the rebound title by one rebound (137) over two-time Iowa Conference MVP Kyle White of Loras College (138). Nine times this season Ruckebeil collected double digit totals for rebounds.
Ruckebeil, who was Luther’s second leading scorer, finished 18th in the IIAC in this category with an average of 10.3 points per game. His shooting percentage of 48.4 percent ranked 10th and he was 13th for free throw percentage at 70.2 percent.
During the 2007-08 campaign, Ruckebeil produced three double-doubles, collecting a season high 20 rebounds in Luther’s 54-43 victory over St. Olaf College (11/19/07). His 23 points in Luther’s 65-60 loss to Simpson College (2/09/08) was also his season best.
Ruckebeil is the son of Mark and Sandy Ruckebeil of Zion, Ill.
