Norse Defeat Kohawks - Ruckebeil Records Double-Double

Luther snapped a four-game losing streak defeating Coe College 52-44 here in the Regents Center. The Norse led 31-22 at halftime and led by as many as 14 points in the second stanza.

Zac Ruckebeil had a huge night producing a double-double. Ruckebeil paced the Norse offensive attack with 13 points and collected a game high 14 rebounds. Austin Bildstein and Jake Waddle also reached double digits with 12 and 10 points respectively. Ryan Kuhn was one point shy of double figures with nine.

The Norse defensive effort was outstanding the entire evening, forcing the Kohawks to shoot just 25% (11-44). The Kohawks made five field goals in the first half and six in the second.

Offensively, the Norse connected on 7-of-13 three-point field goals for a blistering 53.8%. Kuhn knocked down three from behind the arch, while Bildstein and Waddle were both credited with two.

Coe's Kyle Kuenstling also tallied a double-double, thanks to 13 points and 10 boards. Brian Brungard led all scorers with 14 points.

The win was Luther's second in conference play and increased its overall record to 6-11. Coe falls to 4-5 in the IIAC, 9-9 overall.

The Norse will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 30, when they will travel to league leading Buena Vista University. This game will begin at 8:00 p.m.
