Norse Fall Short at Home Against Dubuque

Trailing by as many as nine points in the second half, Luther battled back to tie the score 41-41 thanks to a pair of free throws by Austin Bildstein, with six minutes remaining on the clock. A three-point basket by Dubuque's Tyler Daugherty on the very next possession, gave the Spartans the lead for good en route to a 54-47 victory here in the Regents Center.
Luther jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead in the first five minutes of this copntest, but scored just nine points the rest of the half and trailed 26-19 at the intermission.
Bildstein led the Norse in scoring and was the only player to reach double digits with 13. Zac Ruckebeil was one bucket shy of a double-double, scoring eight points and collecting a game high 10 rebounds.
Dubuque was led the the trio of Taylor Blum (13), Mike Peek (12) and Tyler Daugherty (10). Peek's biggest basket of the night was off an offensive rebound, follwing a missed free throw by Daugherty, that gave the Spartans a 50-45 advantage with 29 seconds left in the game.
The loss drops Luther's Iowa Conference record to 1-4, 5-8 overall. Dubuque moves to 2-3 in league play, 6-6 overall.
