Luther 8th at Roy Griak

All-American Matt Busche and David McKay ran side-by-side, leading the Norse seven to an eighth place finish at the Roy Griak Invitational. Thirty-four teams participated in the 22nd annual event hosted by the University of Minnesota on the 8 kilometer trek at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.
McKay (26:54) and Busche (26:55) crossed the finish line in 31st and 32nd place respectively from the field of 367 runners. Carson Bruns (61st - 27:32), John Franzen (70th - 27:46) and Mike Switzer (71st - 27:47) completed Head Coach Steve Pashce's top five performers. Trevor Ruwitch (73rd - 27:53) and Daniel Summerfield (95th - 28:14) also ran well for the nationally ranked #26 Norse.
#3 UW-La Crosse won the team title with 53 points. #9 UW-Platteville was second with 105, followed by Iowa Central Community College with 108 and #31 Carleton College with 183.
The Norse will be off until Oct. 13, when they will travel to the UW-La Crosse Invitational.
