What the Norse are Saying
I chose Luther College because of the great sense of community, the opportunity to challenge myself academically, and the connection I felt with the team and coaches.
Being on the cross country team has been a life changing experience. The camaraderie among the team members, the coaching philosophy, and positive atmosphere have all attributed to the overall experience of my running career here at Luther. The friends and connections I have made will follow me into my professional career.
Being a student athlete can be a challenge but it is well worth it. I will be able to use the skills and experiences that I have gained from participating in cross-country throughout my life. Cross country at Luther has been an incredible journey thus far and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I chose to attend Luther for several reasons, but my main reason was the cross-country team. When I visited I knew that the camaraderie between the team was too good to pass up and everyday at practice I am reminded that I made the right decision. Starting with a trip to Estes Park Colorado in the summer and continuing throughout the year, the team forms an incredible bond that is unique and special compared to the high school teams I have been on. Time spent with the team both at practice and outside of practice is always enjoyable and has helped make my first year experience better.
Participating in an extracurricular activity like cross-country has helped me manage my time and focus on my school work. It also gives me a much needed break from the daily routine of classes. If I ever have questions about homework or college life in general, I can always find someone on the team who can give advice or help me find the answer.
