Luther posted its first win of the season, defeating Cornell 25-20 this afternoon in Mount Vernon. The victory snapped a three-game skid and was the fifth victory in a row over the Rams. Luther now leads the series 6-5.

Place kicker Tyler Pease, set an Iowa Conference and Luther school record, with six field goals. Pease made all six of his attempts kicking the ball threw the uprights from 27, 33, 27, 22, 28 and 26 yards. Prior to today's record setting performance, Chris Gardner (Loras) and Carlos Martinez (Buena Vista) shared the record with five field goals in a single game. Martinez placed his name in the record book in the Beavers 29-7 victory over the Norse in 1999. Gardner kicked his five field goals against Wartburg in 1988.
