Kyle Mcgivney named to d3football.com team of the week

Luther College junior linebacker Kyle McGivney was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware for Week 9 of the 2009 football season.

The D3football.com Team of the Week is the D3football.com's weekly honor roll, spotlighting a player at each starting position from the past week, including special teams. It has been awarded since 1999.

McGivney tallied a single-game career-high 23 tackles in a losing effort vs. Wartburg on Saturday, Oct. 31. He also caused a fumble and had three and a half tackles for loss.

Iowa Conference and national statistics released Nov. 4, has McGivney leading both the the NCAA Division III and the Iowa Conference in tackles averaging 14.2 and 15.3 tackles per game.
