Kyle Mcgivney named to d3football.com team of the week for a second time

Luther College junior linebacker Kyle McGivney has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware for Week 11 of the 2009 football season.
The D3football.com Team of the Week is the D3football.com's weekly honor roll, spotlighting a player at each starting position from the past week, including special teams. It has been awarded since 1999.
McGivney, a junior linebacker, tallied a game-high 14 tackles (8 solo), blocked two punts and broke up the final pass of the game to secure Luther’s 20-17 final game of the season victory over Loras. His second blocked punt was picked up by teammate Bruce Clark and returned 12 yards for a touchdown.
McGivney, who was moved to linebacker this season after starting last year at defensive back, led the Norse defensive unit with 141 tackles (70 solo). He also led the team with four interceptions and also tallied 1.5 sacks.
This is the second time this season that McGivney has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week (Nov. 3).
