Norse Wrap Up Fall Season as Team Champions of Benedictine Invitational

The men's golf team wrapped up the fall season collecting a team championship at the Benedictine University Invitational held Oct. 6-7. Fifteen teams played on the par 70, 6,438 yard Maple Meadows Golf Course located in Wood Dale, Ill. Luther shot a two-day total of 583, finishing nine strokes ahead of runner-up Edgewood College at 592.
Tom Lantzy and Paul Soener were co-medalist's shooting a 36-hole total of even par 140. Lantzy posted rounds of 69-71, while Soener shot a tournament low 67 on day one and a 73 on day two. Both players finished four strokes ahead of Daniel Behm from Wisconsin Lutheran and Frank Roucek from Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Chase Forkenbrock and Alec Schumacher finished in a tie for 21st. Forkenbrock shot rounds of 78-74-152 and Schumacher posted rounds of 76-76-152. Jake Jurgensen completed the Norse squad and finished 28th carding 80-75-155. Seventy-two golfers played in the tournament.
