Norse 10th at Wrigglesworth - Lantzy Tied for Third Overall

Tom Lantzy shot a five-over-par 147, and finished in a tie for third place at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational. Lantzy posted rounds of 71 and 76, finishing three strokes behind co-tournament champions Kyle Rohlfs of Gustavus Adolphus and Pete Wendt of Eau Claire.
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire hosted the 36-hole tournament on the par 71, 6,672 yard Eau Claire Country Club Sept. 23-24.
As a team, Luther finished tenth from the field of 15 schools. The Norse shot 641 carding totals of 321 day one and 320 on day two. Eau Claire won the team title with a 595, finishing one stroke ahead of Gustavus at 595. St. John's University, the NCAA III defending national champions, was third with a 608.
The remainder of Head Coach Scott Fjelstul's squad included Chase Forkenbrock (t44th - 163), Paul Soener (t58th - 167), Alex Schumacher (T64th - 168) and Andrew Odean (t75th - 174). Eighty golfers played in the tournament.
The Norse will travel to Minneapolis for the three-day Gustavus Twin Cities Classic Sept. 29-Oct. 1. The first round play will take place at Elk River Country Club, while second round play will occur at The Links at Northfork in Ramsey. Monday's final round will be contested at Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington.
