Luther Finishes Third at Bobby Krig Invite

The men's golf team played well at the Bobby Krig Invite hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College April 21-22. The 54-hole tournament was played at two different golf courses. Day consisted of a grueling 36-holes, was played at Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, Minn. and the final 18-holes was was played at the Ridges at Sand Creek near Jordan, Minn.
Luther shot a total of 911 (300-301-310) and finished third. St. John's University (MN) won the team title posting an 871 and Gustavus was second at 896. Sixteen teams participated in the tournament.
Tom Lantzy carded a 54-hole total of 225 (72-75-78) and finished alone in 11th place from the field of 80 golfers. Two strokes behind wa Alec Schumacher who finished in a tie for 12th (71-82-74-227). Completing the Norse squad and how they finished included Paul Soener (t19 - 81-74-76-231), Ross Jacobucci (t22 - 77-73-82-232) and Chase Forkenbrock (44th - 80-79-82).
This was the final tune-up for the Norse prior to the Iowa Conference Tournament that will begin this Friday and Saturday, April 25-26 at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. The first 36-holes of the 72-hole tournament will be played at Finkbine, and the final 36-holes will be played in Decorah at the Oneota Golf and Country Club May 2-3.
