Norse Roll to 9-0 Victory Over Coe - Nelson Records Hat Trick

Luther rolled to its biggest victory of the season defeating Coe College 9-0 this afternoon here in Decorah. The Norse scored three times in the first half and six times in the second.
Kyle Nelson recorded his second hat trick of the year, scoring goals in the 19th, 53rd and 69th minutes. Nelson now leads the team with seven goals and 14 points.
All-conference defender John Schroeher started the offensive barrage 14 minutes into the contest, scoring what proved to be the game winner unassisted and his second of the year.
The remainder of the goal scorers included Dane Jensen (2), Nic Barclay (3), Adam Pyzdrowski (2), Peter Anhalt (1), and Nic Wrobel (2). D J Mello dished out two assists, while Wrobel, Pyzdrowski, Barclay, Anhalt and Jason Olsgard were all credited with one.
Leif Madsen and Blake Bochnak combined for the team shutout. Both keepers made one save as Coe tallied just two shots on goal the entire 90 minutes of play.
The win gives Luther an Iowa Conference record of 3-0. The Norse have now won three in a row and are 6-4-2 overall. Coe fell to 0-3 in the IIAC, 2-7-1 overall.
Luther returns to IIAC action on the road on Tuesday, Oct. 9. The Norse will travel to three-time defending Iowa Conference champions Wartburg College for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
