Luther Remains Undefeated in League Play

Luther remained undefeated in Iowa Conference action following a 3-0 victory over the University of Dubuque here in Decorah tonight. The win was Luther's second in a row and increased its overall record to 5-4-2. Luther is now 2-0 in the IIAC. Dubuque fell to 0-3 in league play, 6-6 overall.
Stian Iverson score what proved to be the game winner just four minutes into the match. Iverson drove in his second goal of the year on a penalty kick following a hand ball in the box. Andrew Wright gave the Norse a 2-0 halftime lead at 38:30 with a one-time rocket off a cross from the left corner of the field by Dane Jensen. Wright's goal was his first of the year.
Kyle Nelson scored his fourth goal of the season at 62:13 assisted by fellow Decorah High School teammate D J Mello.
Leif Madsen was once again solid in goal. Madsen made four saves including a point-blank shot late in the game to secure his fourth shutout of the season. With tonight's effort, he has lowered his goals-against-average to 0.95.
Luther continues Iowa Conference play this Saturday when it will host Coe College at 1:00 p.m.
