Norse Begin Season With 0-0 Double Overtime Tie

The men's soccer team played the 2006 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) defending champions St. John's University, to a 0-0 double overtime tie this afternoon in Collegeville.

Leif Madsen went the distance defending the Norse net en route to his first shutout of the season. He was credited with 11 saves.

The Johnnies out shot the Norse by a slim 17-14 margin and Luther placed eight shots on goal.

The Norse will continue play tomorrow afternoon in Collegeville when they will square off against Concordia-Moorhead at 1:00 p.m.
