Luther Falls in Overtime to UW-Platteville

Oct. 24, 2007

UW-Platteville midfielder Brian Gottschlich broke a 0-0 tie in the 99th minute, giving the Pioneers a 1-0 overtime victory here in Decorah. Luther goal keeper Ben Parman made a valiant attempt at stopping the point blank game winner but could not get a hand on the ball.

The Pioneers played the majority of the second half in Luther's end of the field and forced Parman to make five of his eight saves in this frame. The Norse tallied 11 shots, four that were on goal, two in each half.

Box score

The loss drops Luther's overall record to 8-8-2, while Platteville moved to 10-5-1.

The Norse will complete the regular season Iowa Conference schedule at home on Saturday, when they will host regular season champions Loras College at 3:00 p.m.
