luther drops 2-1 decision to Wartburg in Waverly

Wartburg's Scott Willits scored his second goal of the season in the 79th minutes, securing a 2-1 victory for the Knights over Luther this afternoon in Waverly.
Following a Wartburg goal in the 50th minute, Luther's Saul Rosales tied the match with his third goal of the year, assisted by Alex Case (1) at 70:16.
Statistically, Wartburg out shot Luther 10-8 and had a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The loss drops Luther's Iowa Conference record to 4-3, 6-9-1 overall. Wartburg moves to 6-2 in the IIAC, 11-4-1 overall.
The Norse will wrap up the regular season schedule one week from today when they will host Coe College at 5:00 p.m. A victory would secure a spot in the six-team Iowa Conference Tournament that will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 3. A victory would also give the Norse the #4 seed which will mean they will host an opening round match. The Coe match next Saturday will be video streamed weather permitting.
