Qualified for NCAA III National Championships in the 50 freestyle last season...holds the school record for the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle...his name also appears on the school records as a member of the 200, 400 and 800 free relay teams...two-time conference champion in the 50 free and the 200 free relay...he was also conference champion in 400 free relay and the 200 medley relay...produced gold medal performances at the 2009 Liberal Arts Championships in the 50 free, 200 medley relay, and 800 freestyle...2008 honorable mention All-American in the 200 medley, 400 medley and 200 free relay...four-year letter winner for the Decorah Vikings...also a two-year letter winner in cross country and once in soccer...was a state qualifier as a sophomore and senior in swimming...also made a state tournament appearance as a member of the soccer team...son of Cy and Ramona Nelson.
