Norse Dominate Day One of Grinnell Invitational

Luther dominated the first day of the two-day Grinnell Invitational capturing six first place finishes. The Norse captured the top-five places in the 100 freestyle; the top-four places in the 500 freestyle; and had four individuals qualify for the A finals of the 200 IM. Luther will enter day two with a 133 point lead over second place Grinnell. Luther posted a team total of 400 points and is followed by Grinnell (267), Macalester (88) and Morningside (69). Eight teams are participating in this meet.
Cameron Webb collected two individual first place finishes and also swam the first leg of the first place 200 freestyle relay. Webb won both the 500 freestyle (4:55.56) and the 100 freestyle (47.63).
Andrew Bross won the 200 butterfly (1:59.20) and Alex Eganhouse breezed to the title of the 3-meter diving competition (411.55).
The 200 free relay team of Webb, Taylor Nelson, Eric Crawford and Ben Skutnik, set the tone for the afternoon, posting a first place time of (1:25.60).
The 400 medley relay foursome of Bryan Perrott, Michael Pettengill, Spencer Robbins and Taylor wrapped up the first day's competition touching the wall first with a mark of (3:36.62).
Competition will resume and on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m., with finals slated for 5:30 p.m.
