Luther falls to Division II St. Cloud State 147-74

The Luther College swimming and diving team hosted NCAA Division II opponent St. Cloud State University this afternoon. The Huskies, who finished 14th at last year's NCAA II National Championships, posted an impressive 147-74 victory.
The Norse 200 medley relay team of Eric Hild, Michael Pettengill, Dan Coffield and Tim Cutler gave the Norse a quick 11 points, winning the opening event with a time of 1:40.73.
Taylor Nelson and Pettengill were the only two individuals to post first place finishes. Nelson won the 50 freestyle clocked at 21:98, while Pettengill won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.67.
The loss gives the Norse a dual meet record of 2-1 and also snaps a string of six consecutive dual meet victories dating back to last season.
The Norse will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 14 when they will host UW-Whitewater at 1:00 p.m.
