The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced that the Luther College men’s tennis team has been named a 2009 ITA All-Academic Team.

For a team to earn this honor, all eligible student-athletes whose names appear on the NCAA III eligibility roster, must have had a combined grade-point-average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Luther was one of 35 teams from the NCAA III and the only school from the Iowa Conference that earned this award.

Individually, six members of the team were also recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a student-athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 or greater on a 4.0 scale, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
