Sundstrom - rijal All-Americans - Place 7th at ITA Championships

Wilson/ITA Midwest doubles champions Scott Sundstrom and Utsab Rijal became 2009 All-Americans after placing seventh at the ITA National Small College Championships held at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala.
The duo placed seventh after defeating a team from the University of Texas-Tyler, Brad Fenter and Nick Kreinces, 3-6, 6-3, 10-5 this afternoon. Earlier today, Sundstrom and Rijal were defeated in the first round of the consolation bracket 6-3, 6-3 by Brian Pybas and Marc Vartabediaon of UC-Santa Cruz.
In yesterday's opening round, the duo was defeated by Nikola Ljoboja and James Muliawan of Carnegie Mellon 6-4, 6-4.
"What a great experience for Scott and Utsab, " commented four-time Iowa Conference Coach of the Year Brian Huinker. "They played well through out the tournament and should be proud of their accomplishments this week. It is also an outstanding achievement for them to be the first Luther's doubles team to earn All-America honors."
