Luther Drops three Tie Breakers - loses to St. Thomas 7-2

Luther squared off with the University of St. Thomas in the second match of the afternoon here in Decorah and was defeated 7-2.
St. Thomas took a 2-0 lead after doubles play capturing wins at #1 and #3. Scott Martin and Max Piepkorn secure a win at #2 by a score of 8-2.
The Norse had an opportunity to pull off a come-from-behind victory, but dropped three tie breakers, that secured the victory for the Tommies. Piepkorn at #3, Martin at #4 and Cole Henry at #5, all lost hard fought three set decisions. Max Busch secured the lone victory for the Norse in singles action at #1, 7-6 (5), 6-1 over Phil Hanke.
The loss drops Luther's overall record to 25-5. The rest of the team is also in action this afternoon in Dallas, Texas and will play the University of Texas-Dallas at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon.
