Tegels - Switzer - Larson earn all-conference honors - luther finishes fifth at iiac championships

Austin Tegels, Mike Switzer and Karl Larson, all earned all-conference honors for the first time of their careers this afternoon during the final day of competition at the Iowa Conference Championships. Central College hosted the two-day meet.
Tegels and Switzer finished second and third respectively in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Tegels posted a time of 9:37.24 and was just edge for the league's title by Teddy Clark of Central who was clocked at 9:36.05. Switzer crossed the finish line with a time of 9:50.02.
Larson finished third in the 1500 meter run with an all-conference time of 3:59.18. Mark Sulkin and Cody Dreyer of Loras finished first and second posting times of 3:57.18 and 3:58.83 respectively.
As a team, Luther finished in fifth place with a point total of 67. Central College won the team title with 198.5 and was followed by Loras with 155 and Wartburg with 150.
