Gregg Records Fall in Final Match - #12 Luther Defeats #7 Coe

An estimated crowd of 600 witnessed a classic Iowa Conference battle between two of the top teams in the NCAA III. Coe College, ranked #7 in the nation squared off with host Luther, ranked #12.
With Luther trailing 17-13 entering the final match of the evening, A J Gregg posted a fall over Tyler Jentz at 1:33, giving the Norse an exciting 19-17 victory.
Luther led 13-9 seven matches into this dual, thanks to a major decision by Alec Bonander (197), followed by decisions from John Miller (285), Travis Grawin (141) and Yonny Quist (149).
Coe regained the lead 17-13 after posting a decision at 157 and a technical fall at 165, setting up the heroics by Gregg.
Lee Meirick at 125 lost a hard fought decision by a score of 7-6 to Clayton Rush who entered this match ranked third in the nation.
The win gives Luther an Iowa Conference record of 5-2, 13-5 overall. Coe falls to 5-2 in the IIAC, 16-4 overall.
