#3 UW-La Crosse Defeats #5 Luther 28-12

Two nationally ranked teams squared off in La Crosse, Wis. this evening in front of a crowd in Mitchell Hall estimated at 450. UW-La Crosse, ranked #3 in the nation, defeated #5 Luther 28-12. The Eagles picked up bonus points with falls at 165, 174 and 184 and a major decision at 197.
Lee Meirick (125), Travis Grawin (141), Jason Pyle (149) and John Miller (285) all posted victories for the Norse. Pyle defeated Matt Mauseth who entered the match ranked 5th in the nation. The loss was Mauseth's first of the season (10-1) while Pyle moved to 8-1. Miller, ranked third in the nation, defeated Dan Laurent who is ranked sixth.
