Pyle Places 7th at First National Meet - Earns All-America Honors at 149

Jason Pyle a 2007 graduate of Sabetha High School, placed seventh at the 2009 NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championships, earning All-America honors at 149 for the first time of his career.
Pyle, who was making his first appearance at the national finale, posted a record of 3-2 during the two days of competition en route to his seventh place finish. The top-eight finishers earn All-America honors.
Pyle lost his opening round match to Matt Mauseth of UW-La Crosse 13-6. Mauseth went on to claim the 2009 national title.
Pyle rebounded with back-to-back falls over Ryan Mulnix of Cornell College (2:56) and Dale Fava of Delaware Valley (3:50) in the first two rounds of the consolation bracket and became a 2009 All-American.
In the third round, Blaine Woszczak of Ithaca defeated him by major decision (18-6) sending him to the seventh place match. In that match, he defeated #6 seed Robert Klein of Muhlenberg 10-7, to secure the seventh place finish.
