#19 Luther Defeats #14 Dubuque

Major decisions by Josh Prichard (Morton, Ill.) and Yonny Quist (Hilo, Hawaii) plus a fall by Jason Pyle (Morrill, Kan./Sabetha), proved to be the difference in tonight's match, as #19 Luther defeated #14 Dubuque 20-17 here in the Regents Center.
Prichard defeated Pat Bauer 16-4 at 141. He was followed by Pyle's fall at 3:33 over Anderson Sainci at 149. Quist concluded the 10-point burst with a 12-2 victory over Justin Cedeno at 157.
The Norse also picked up victories by decision at 125 by Jayson Swanson (Watson, Ill./St. Anthony) and #1 Alec Bonander (Larchwood, Iowa/West Lyon).

The victory levels Luther's Iowa Conference record to 4-4, 7-10-1 overall. Dubuque falls to 5-3 in the IIAC, 6-5 overall.
The next varsity competition will be the Iowa Conference Championships on Feb. 17. Luther will host this year's league championships with wrestling beginning at 10:30 a.m.
