Luther Posts 1-2 Record at National Duals

Luther posted a record of 1-2 at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals hosted by the University of Northern Iowa Jan. 10-11.

The Norse started the tournament with a 25-17 victory over Olivet College. The Norse then faced top-ranked Wartburg College in the quarterfinals of the championship bracket and were defeated 39-3. Alec Bonander (Larchwood, Iowa/West Lyon) posted the only victory in this match, a 7-0 decision over Nick Shandri.

In the consolation bracket, Luther's tournament came to an end, when it was defeated by Cornell College by a score of 27-15.

The win and two losses drops Luther's overall record to 4-5-1. The Norse will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 17 when they will host Wartburg College at 7:00 p.m. This match will be video streamed by the Luther sports information department complete with play-by-play at http://sports.luther.edu/video/index.html.
