Bartlett Places 4th at UNI Open

Zach Bartlett, a 2008 All-American at 133, posted a record of 5-2 at the University of Northern Iowa Open en route to a 4th place finish.
Bartlett, who is ranked third in the NCAA III at 133, ran off five consecutive victories in this tournament after dropping a close opening round bout to Nathan McCormick of Missouri 16-12.
In the consolation bracket, Bartlett posted falls over Zeke Rowan of Illinois (3:39) and Steven Fitzgerald of UNI (3:16), then defeated two University of Nebraska-Omaha wrestlers, including the defending NCAA II national champion Cody Garcia in back-to-back matches, to reach the third place match. Bartlett lost to University of Iowa wrestler Nate Moore 12-2 in the third place match.
The Norse will return to dual meet competition on Thursday, Dec. 11 when they will host nationally ranked UW-La Crosse at 7:00 p.m. This match will be preceded by the Decorah - Cresco high school junior varsity and varsity matches that will begin at 5:30 p.m.
