- Third year as head cross-country coach for both the men's and women's programs.
- Named Iowa Conference Coach of the Year in 2006.
- Led Norse to 2006 Iowa Conference Championship and a 6th place finish at the NCAA III National Championships.
- Also serves as assistant track and field coach.
- Prior to taking over the Norse programs Steve spent two years as an assistant at Williams College (MA), where the women's team won the national championship in 2004 and the men's team finished in the top-10 in 2003 and 2004.
- From 2000-2002 head men's coach of cross country at Macalester College (MN).
- 1997 graduate of St. John's University (MN) where he earned all-conference honors while a student-athlete in cross country and track.
