Luther Defeats Blackburn - Head Coach Jane Hildebrand Records 400th Career Victory

Luther breezed to a 61-45 victory over Blackburn College this afternoon in the opening round of the Clarke Holiday Tournament. The Norse jumped out to a 38-16 halftime lead and never looked back, giving Head Coach Jane Hildebrand her 400th career victory.
Amanda Dahlseng led a group of 12 different players who scored, producing 15 points in 30 minutes of action. She was followed by Ashley TeKippe with nine and Jackie Miller with seven.
Defensively, the Norse held Blackburn to 28% shooting for the game and also forced 28 turnovers. The Norse scored 27 points off turnovers and also dominated the paint, producing 24 points with their inside attack.
Coach Hildebrand, who entered the year ranked 22nd in the country for career wins by active coaches, becomes the 24th coach in the history of the NCAA III to reach the 400-win milestone. With the victory this evening, she has compiled an overall record of 400-206 and is in the midst of her 24th year at the helm of the Luther basketball program.
The Norse will return to action tomorrow, when they will play Clarke at 5:15 p.m. The winner of this game will advance to the championship game that will take place at 3:15 p.m. on Dec. 31. The loser will play for third place at 11:00 a.m. also on the 31st.
