Norse Roll to 81-64 Victory Over Buena Vista

Luther's Camille Stenhaug scored off the opening tip en route to a game high 22 points, as Luther rolled to an impressive 81-64 victory over Buena Vista University here in the Regents Center this afternoon.

The Norse never trailed in this contest exploding to a 41-18 halftime lead. Luther blistered the nets in this period connecting on 53.6% of their attempts, while holding the Beavers to just 19.4%. Although Buena Vista outscored Luther 46-40 in the second stanza, the damage had already been done.

Stenhaug led a group of four Norse that tallied double figures. Jill Eicher came off the bench to score 13 points that included a perfect 3 for 3 performance from behind the three-point line. Ashley TeKippe and Amanda Dahlseng were both credited with 11 points. TeKippe produced a double-double grabbing a game high 11 rebounds.

Courtney Stoelk led Buena Vista with 16 points. Margo Muhlbauer, who entered the game averaging 21 points a game, was held to 11, connecting on 3 of 12 attempts.

The win gives Luther an Iowa Conference record of 2-1. The Norse are one game below .500, posting an overall record of 5-6. Buena Vista is now 0-3 in the IIAC, 6-6 overall.

The Norse will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 9, when they will travel to Central College. This game will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will be broadcast here on your computer by KWLC 1240 AM.
