Luther Defeats Buena Vista - Five Norse Reach Double Figures

Luther remained in a tie for second place in the Iowa Conference standings following a 79-73 victory over Buena Vista University in Storm Lake this evening. In a game that saw 17 ties and 16 lead changes, Luther outscored Buena Vista 10-4 in the final 3:39 to secure the victory.
Ashley TeKippe led a balanced attack that had five Norse tally double figures. TeKippe recorded a double-double with 23 points and collected a game high 10 rebounds. She was followed by Camille Stenhaug (13), Amanda Dahlseng (12), Jill Eicher (12) and Marci Furlong (10). TeKippe dominated the paint connecting on 7-of-12 from the field and was also an impressive 9-for-12 from the free throw line.
Margo Muhlbauer was the only Buena Vista player to reach double figures. She poured in a game high 27 points that included a perfect 10-for-10 performance from the charity stripe.
The victory gives Luther a record of 7-3 in the Iowa Conference, 10-8 overall. Buena Vista falls to 3-7 in the IIAC, 9-10 overall.
Luther travels to Cornell College on Saturday, Feb. 2, for a game that will begin at 2:00 p.m.
