Luther Defeated by Central in Pella

In an Iowa Conference clash that saw 13 lead changes, host Central prevailed, defeating the Norse 67-63. Luther led at halftime 40-35, but was outscored 32-23 in the second frame. Eight three-point baskets plus a 19 of 23 performance by Central at the free throw line proved to be the difference in this game.
Amanda Dahlseng and Camille Stenhaug led the Norse offensive attack with 16 points each. Ashley TeKippe tallied seven points and collected six rebounds. Danielle Dunnwald grabbed nine rebounds, dished out six assists and had six steals, all team highs.
Ashley Gerst led a trio of double digit scorers for the Dutch. Gerst poured in a game high 18 points, while Erin Benson and Jordan Waddell were both credited with 10.
The loss drops Luther's Iowa Conference record to 2-2, 5-7 overall. Central is also 2-2 in league play, 4-9 overall.
The Norse will return to action one week from tonight when they will host the University of Dubuque. Tip-off is schedule for 6:00 p.m.
