Luther Advances to Championship Game of Clarke Holiday Basketball Tournament

Luther advanced to the championship game of the Clarke Holiday Basketball Tournament after posting an impressive 87-67 victory over host Clarke this afternoon in Dubuque. The Norse jumped out to a 49-21 halftime lead en route to their fourth win of the season. The victory also marked the first time this season the Norse have posted back-to-back victories.
Ashley TeKippe led a trio of double digits scorers pouring in a game high 25 points. Camille Stenhaug added 12 and Marci Furlong chipped in 10.
The Norse offensive attack connected on 8 of 15 attempts from behind the three-point line and 23 of 34 attempts from the charity stripe.
Four Clarke players tallied double figures led by Mariah Bolin with 21. Laura Gaylord and Missy Perry were both credited with 15 points and Lauren Johnson added 10.
The Norse will face the winner of the Robert Morris College - Davenport University semifinal that will be played Sunday, Jan. 30 at 5:00 p.m. The championship game will take place on Monday, Jan. 31 at 3:15 p.m.
