Luther's Four Game Win Streak Snapped

Luther had its four-game win streak snapped this evening here in the Regents Center, dropping a 59-44 decision to Coe College. Leading 32-38 at halftime, the Norse were outscored 15-1 in the first seven minutes of the second stanza. The Norse made just four field goals in the second half (4-15) and shot 30.9% (17-55) for the game en route to its lowest point production of the season.
Marci Furlong was Luther's top point producer with eight. She was followed by Camille Stenhaug (7), Ashley TeKippe (7) and Jackie Miller (5).
Coe shot 48% in the second half (12-25) and was led by Amber Karkosh, who produced a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, both game highs. Lisa Thornburg tallied 11 points and Sarah Anciaux just missed double figures with nine.
Both teams are now 6-3 in the Iowa Conference. Luther fell to 9-8 overall, while Coe increased its overall record to 13-5.
The Norse will travel to Buena Vista University on Wednesday, Jan. 30 for a contest that will begin at 6:00 p.m.
