Luther posted its first conference win of the season, defeating Cornell College 61-56 here in the Regents Center. The Norse jumped out to a 33-17 halftime lead, but were outscored 39-28 in the second frame. The Norse also uncharacteristically turned the ball over 36 times.

Cornell's Tiffany Cowan knocked down a jumper that pulled the Rams to within four (58-54) with two minutes remaining in the game. A pair of free throws by Mari Furlong plus one by Camille Stenhaug in the final 40 seconds, gave the Norse the cushion they needed to secure the victory.

Danielle Dunnwald and Stenhaug paced the Norse offensive attack with 10 points each. Ashley TeKippe and Furlong both chipped in nine and Jackie Miller added eight. Furlong did all of her damage off the bench.

Dunnwald, Blair Ernst and TeKippe all collected double digits in rebounds, leading the Norse to a huge 50-27 advantage in this category. Dunnwald led the trio with 13, followed by Ernst and TeKippe with 11 and 10 respectively.
