Norse Defeat Rams 64-58

Luther posted its second consecutive victory this afternoon, defeating the Cornell College Rams 64-58 in Mt. Vernon. The Norse (8-3, 11-8) have now won six of their last seven games and moved three games above .500 for the first time this season.

Leading 31-29 at half, Luther scored 19 unanswered points in the first eight minutes of the second frame, increasing its lead to 21 points.

Nine different players scored for Head Coach Jane Hildebrand, led by Ashley TeKippe who recorded her second consecutive double-double. TeKippe poured in 20 points and collected 11 rebounds, both game highs. Amanda Dahlseng also tallied double digits with 17.

Cornell (3-7, 8-11) was led by the trio of Melanie Duplessis (19), Charlotte Milas (13) and Alicia West (10).

The Norse had another outstanding defensive effort, holding the Rams to 31.9% shooting for the game. Luther also won the battle of the boards, out rebounding Cornell 42-37.

Luther will return to action one week from today, when it will host league leading and nationally ranked Simpson College. This game will tip-off in the Regents Center at 2:00 p.m.

The Simpson game will also be "Think Pink Night".
