Norse Step Up the Defense in the Second Half - Defeat Spartans 62-44

Leading by a slim two points at halftime (27-25), the Norse stepped up their defensive effort in the second frame en route to a 62-44 victory over the University of Dubuque here in the Regents Center. Luther held Dubuque to just three field goals in the second half (3-for-25) and outscored the Spartans 35-19.
The trio of Camille Stenhaug, Amanda Dahlseng and Ashley TeKippe led the Norse in scoring. Stenhaug, who was 6-for-11 from the field, produced a game high 15 points. Dahlseng and TeKippe were both credited with 12. TeKippe also collected a team high eight rebounds and blocked four shots.
Jennifer Nichols led the Spartans with 14 points. She was followed by Sydney Snyder with 10 and Briana Nelson chipped in six.
The win increased Luther's Iowa Conference record to 3-2, 6-7 overall. Dubuque fell to 1-4 in the IIAC, 7-7 overall.
