Luther maintained its hold of second place in the Iowa Conference standings after defeating the University of Dubuque 54-45 on the Spartans home court this evening. The win was Luther's fourth in a row and increased its IIAC record to 10-3, 13-8 overall.

Trailing 23-22 at halftime, the Norse put together a 30-15 run in the second half, and led by as many as 14 points with 3:27 left in the game. It was the tale of two completely different halves, as Luther shot just 28% (7-25) in the first and 48% (12-25) in the second.

Camille Stenhaug led a balanced Norse attack with 12 points. Jackie Miller and Ashley TeKippe both chipped in eight.

The Spartans were led by the trio of Jennifer Nichols (19), Jennifer Bell (12) and Courtney Musser (12). Bell also recorded a double-double thanks to a game high 12 rebounds.

Box score

The Norse will return to Dubuque for a game with Loras College this Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
