Norse Defeat Knights 56-50 - Post Third Win in a Row

For the first time this season Luther raised its overall record to one game above .500, following a 56-50 victory over Wartburg College in Waverly this evening. The Norse led at halftime 38-24 and hung on in the second half to secure the victory despite connecting on just 4-of-21 attempts. The win was Luther's third in a row and increased its overall record to 8-7. The Norse are also alone in second place in the IIAC standings at 5-2.
Danielle Dunnwald led the Norse in three statistical categories. She tallied 11 points, grabbed eight rebounds and was also credited with six steals. Ashley TeKippe was the only other player to reach double digits. She chipped in 10, including a key put-back in the final seconds, giving the Norse a 55-50 lead. Camille Stenhaug chipped in nine points and Amanda Dahlseng was credited with eight.
Abbey Hempen led Wartburg with 10 points and was followed by Samantha Harrington and Larin Carlson who both chipped in nine.
Luther will host Loras College this Wednesday, Jan. 23. Loras (4-3, 12-4) was defeated by Coe this evening 68-58 and have now lost two in a row. Tip-off is schedule for 6:00 p.m. This midweek IIAC clash will be video web cast or fans can also listen to all the action by audio web cast.
