Norse 7th at Tori Neubauer Invite - Dobyns Finishes Second

In the final warm-up before the Iowa Conference Championships, the cross country team placed seventh at the Tori Neubauer Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Twenty-seven teams raced on the Maple Grove Country Club located in West Salem, Wis.
Luther, ranked 23rd in the nation, finished behind nationally ranked #10 UW-Eau Claire (3rd - 141), #9 UW-Platteville (4th - 155) and #15 St. Olaf (6th - 181).
The University of Minnesota won the team title with 120 points. The Gophers were followed by South Dakota State with 138.
The Norse were the highest finishing Iowa Conference school, finishing ahead of Wartburg (8th - 200), Central (13th - 310), and Coe (25th - 768).
Janet Dobyns placed second with a time of 21:48.69. She finished behind Becca Jordahl of UW-River Falls who was clocked at 21:45.99. Four hundred and fifty-five runners raced this afternoon.
Dobyns led the the Norse seven of Ericka Sell (35th - 23:20), Flannery Cerbin (41st - 23:29), Elise Bennett (58th - 23:45), Heidi Skildum (59th - 23:45), Katie Dolan (84th - 24:06) and Julia Schiefelbein (87th - 24:08).
The Iowa Conference Championships will take place in Dubuque, Iowa on Saturday, Oct. 27.
