Luther finishes 8th at Tori neubauer invitational

The Luther College women's cross country team wrapped up its regular season schedule at the Tori Neubauer Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The 6k course was run on the Maple Grove Golf Course in West Salem, Wis.
The Norse placed eighth from the field of 27 teams, producing a point total of 246 points. UW-Eau Claire, ranked #6 nationally, won the team title with 51 points. Nebraska Wesleyan was third at 130, followed by North Dakota State with 140.
With 27 complete teams and a number of unattached runners, plus teams that did not field complete teams, the field tallied 448 runners.
Katie Dolan led Luther’s top five with a top-20 finish. Dolan placed 18th with a time of 22:28. She was followed by Sarah Lundine (49th/44pts, 23:13), Kim Horner (59th/53pts, 23:23), Melissa Erickson (65th/57pts, 23:31), and Sharon Heyer (86th/76pts, 23:40).
Julia Schiefelbein (120th, 24:02) and Chelsea Lynch (124th, 24:05) rounded out Luther’s top seven.
In two weeks, the Iowa Conference Championships will be hosted by Wartburg College on Oct. 31. The women’s race is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
