Luther 4th at Midwest Classic - Thies Finishes 15th

Lindsay Thies shot a two-day total of 176 and finished tied for 15th place, helping lead the Norse to a fourth place finish at the Division III Midwest Classic. Carleton College hosted the 36-hole tournament at Troy Burne Golf Club, a Par 71, 5,806 yard trek located in Hudson, Wis.
Gustavus Adolphus won the team championship with a 661, followed by the University of St. Thomas at 665 and Wartburg College at 686. Luther shot a two-day total of 728.
Emily Looft finished 30th with a 183. Close behind were teammates Jenessa Bonikowske carding a 185 and Amy Ekland shooting a 186. Bonikowske finished 35th and Ekland was 39th from the field of 80 players. Ellen Miller completed Luther's five-some carding a 195 and finishes 56th.
This was the final tune-up before the 72-hole Iowa Conference championships. The Norse will join the rest of the IIAC for the first 36-holes at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls on Sept. 28-29. The final 36-holes will be played at the Meadows in Dubuque the following weekend Oct. 5-6.
