Norse Finish 12th at Eau Claire Invite

Amy Ekland and Jenessa Bonikowske both shot a two-round total of 171 and finished in a tie for 22nd from the field of 106 golfers at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational.
Day one saw the 18-team field play on the par 72, 5,812 yard Mill Run Golf Course. Wild Ridge Golf Course, a par 73, 5,973 trek hosted the final 18-holes of play.
The University of St. Thomas won the team championship for the second year in a row posting a two-day total of 654. UW-Stevens Point was one stroke back at 665, followed by Gustavus Adolphus at 667. Luther finished 12th with stroke total of 721.
The Norse finished ahead of all of the Iowa Conference schools playing in the tournament except Wartburg, that finished fourth at 668.
Emily Looft, Kate Barton and Krista Solie completed the five-member varsity squad, while Lindsay Thies and Ellen Miller played as individuals. Looft finished tied for 68th (189) and was followed by Barton tied at 72nd (190) and Solie in 91st position (200). Thies finished tied at 47th (179) and Miller was tied at 72nd with Barton .
The Norse will return to action on Sept. 8-9, when they will travel to Waverly, Iowa for the Wartburg Invitational.
